I always hear this statement that “your wasting time” or “you don’t have a lot of time”. But the thing I think most people fail to realize is that these statements are not true because it depends on what you’re using your time for. The thing that most people fail to understand is, in order to achieve success, it will take TIME. You’re not going to become an amazing artist, athlete, teacher, entrepreneur, etc. in a couple of weeks or months, In most cases it will take years. Because success starts with making a consistent effort each and everyday to learn and get better and sometimes that learning process takes time.
Most people will probably live way until their 40’s, which means if your in your teens, you have time, if your in your 20’s you have time, if your in your 30’s you have time. The thing that will bring you success quickly is consistency, by improving each and everyday and taking small steps.
When people say “your wasting time” the question you should ask them is what is the rush? What exactly are people rushing to do? Build a company? Write a book? Start a small business? … Most of these people are not rushing to do these things, which means they are rushing to go NOWHERE.
The time you spend trying to be a better person or trying to grow, as a person is not a waste of time. If your using your time to read a book and learn something new, your not wasting time. If your using your time to exercise and get in better physical shape your not wasting time, if your learning how to start a business and your finding all the necessary pieces to start that business, your not wasting time. If your learning how to cook a healthy meal, instead of eating fast food, your not wasting your time.
Anything you do to better yourself is not a waste of time, PERIOD
Its might take you a few months maybe years to reach your ultimate goal of having six pack or running a profitable business or creating an amazing painting but if in those years your doing small things to get to your goal, again you are not wasting time. Most people work at jobs for decades, year after year, they go to jobs they hate and not at least 10 minutes a day is spent on building a business idea that will allow them to quit. Not one hour is spent on thinking of a plan to put them in the life they want.
What you have to understand is if your not spending at least a hour a day improving yourself, that is when your wasting your time.
BOTTOM LINE: Ask yourself this question, “What am I doing right now to improve my self? “ and if you can’t answer that question that is when you know your wasting your time.
